New CD in
Progress
New Sept 2009 - "I've Been Deceived" Amazing Grace, Chloe's Eyes, Keep Me Strong, My Baby Girl, Longing, Time to Say Goodbye Freshman Release - Simple Beginnings A Snippet from a CD Review and Commentary for "Simple Beginnings" by Jeff Irvin - Infinite-Life and Sleeping Dog Studios What you hear is what you
get...(The Songs) - I mentioned above that there were a lot of
instrumental songs on this project. There are, but Deanna also does
some singing on
I Dream of You,
I
Will Praise You,
Return to Me,
You Are My
Life and
Where Do We
Go. She has an excellent voice and it has a really soothing
timbre to it. I really like her background vocal work as well. My
favorite of her vocal tracks would be
I Dream of You.
Good work there. The remainder of the tracks are instrumentals.
Angels has some
really cool melody lines in it. My only recommendation on that song
would be to shorten it a tad. Remember, keep the listener interested
and part of that process is not going a overly long in length.
Embers Falling
is a piano driven song with some really talented playing on it.
Mia & Tanni
has some guitar solo work that drives the melody of this song. Kinda
reminds me of Wes Montgomery a little.
Romance
of the Daisy and the title track
Simple Beginnings
are well written songs as well that could benefit from some sampler
work. Also, on tunes like these I would use the chirping bird effect a
little less often as it kinda detracted from the melody lines going on.
My favorite of the instrumental work would be
Summer Day.
Really dug that tune alot as it allowed me to draw some cool mental
pictures.
Blue Ribbon Day ends the project with some guitar work that
really accented this song nicely. There is some really good songwriting
here and I would like to encourage Deanna to continue to write and see
the road to which it leads. She has the talent.... Jeff

Traditional Christmas music with a new twist. Some techno, some grunge guitars as well as folk instruments. A few vocals thrown in the mix to "spice" it up. The title song is a new original.
